Cityland Mall, the world’s first ‘nature-inspired’ shopping destination has been awarded the ‘The Best Commercial Project’ of 2019 at The Arabian Business Real Estate Awards.  The recognition marks the company’s efforts to introduce a distinguished and unique project in the UAE real estate and retail landscape. The award was received by Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Cityland Group, Fahimuddin Sharfuddin at a gala event held at the Le Royal Meridien Beach and Resort & Spa, Dubai.

A brand new 109,000 Sq. ft Carrefour Hypermarket, developed as part of major retail development, Cityland Mall, off the 311 Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed highway, has opened its doors. The 1.2 million sq. ft GLA Cityland Mall is adjacent to Global Village, and Carrefour, being developed as part of the ambitious project, will cater to the residential communities of Arabian Ranches, Majan, Al Barari. Layan, The Villa and Falcon City, all of which are located within a ten-minute drive-time.

Carrefour, operating under Majid Al Futtaim, will offer customers a wide variety of their signature items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, and high-quality non-food products, in addition to a Healthy Kitchen aisle, Food2Go, and Cuisines of the World at unprecedented prices.

Cityland is the World’s first nature-inspired mall and when complete will offer an unrivalled shopping and leisure experience. The mall has already been the recipient of a global award for innovation by Global RLI Awards, underpinning the developer’s efforts to introduce a distinguished project in the real estate and retail landscape. In addition to its extensive retail and food and beverage offering, it will comprise a 200,000 sq. ft. botanical garden – “Central Park”, a mini water park, an amphitheater with 3,000 seating capacity, an ancient tree garden, Koi pond and mini version of Dubai Miracle Garden, as well as a family entertainment area complete with cinema complex.

The progress of Cityland Mall, the 2.2 million sq. ft retail and entertainment scheme being developed by Cityland Real Estate Development off the 311 Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road, continues apace with Vindico on board to deliver the retail element.

Vindico is the world’s leading international retail delivery consultancy and now that the construction process of the entire mall is in the advanced stages of completion, it will be responsible for coordinating the mall tenants’ fit-out works and ensuring that their opening remains on time.

The AED 1.2 billion Cityland Mall is the world’s first “nature inspired” shopping destination, incorporating a 200,000 sq. ft green central park area.  Its retail capacity totals over 1.2 million sq. ft of space accommodating over 350 retailers and F&B outlets. The major anchor tenant, Carrefour hypermarket, a part of Majid Al Futtaim Retail, will open its door before the end of the year. Cityland Mall also boasts a variety of entertainment and retail global brands including VOX Cinemas, Fabyland and the Scandinavian home furnishing brand JYSK among others.

Vindico was chosen by developer, Cityland due to its vast experience in delivering retail for some of the world’s largest and most high profile schemes including Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi; Festival City, Dubai and Mall of Qatar, Doha.  In all, the organization has assisted with the delivery of 65 shopping centres and airport projects, and over 9,000 shops and restaurants.

Cityland Mall, the world’s first ‘nature-inspired’ shopping destination, recently celebrated a major win at the 13th edition of Global RLI (Retail and Leisure International) Awards at the Natural History Museum in London, United Kingdom. Cityland Mall, located beside Global Village, was recognized as the ‘Most Anticipated Opening of 2018’, underpinning the company’s efforts to introduce a distinguished project in the real estate and retail landscape.

The Global RLI Awards honors the most visionary and dynamic retail and leisure concepts from across the globe, paying tribute to those companies that continue to push the boundaries. Evaluated by an eminent panel of industry experts, the award recognises Cityland Mall as the most anticipated and promising project of the year that will bring innovative features and customer satisfaction while achieving remarkable overall business performance. Widely acknowledged to be the most prominent awards within the industry, on a global scale, the accolade gives retail owners, developers, and related management the opportunity to network and showcase their projects to a global audience.

Cityland Mall which will be the world’s first ‘nature-inspired’ shopping destination remains on track for opening in Q4 2018 with construction of the mall continuing at a consistent pace. In terms of construction, over 60 per cent of the project has been completed.  In parallel, the leasing of the mall has also made considerable progress, with over 50 per cent of retail spaces having been leased or committed.
